Photosynthetic and growth characteristics in MnCl2-treated Tradescantia albiflora plants
In plants grown for 6 weeks in nutrient solution with 100 to 800 micro M MnCl2, both the photosynthetic CO2 uptake (PN) and respiratory CO2 release (RD) were lower than in control plants, while the CO2 compensation concentration was higher. The PN/RD ratio was lower in MnCl2-treated plants than in the control except for 200 micro M MnCl2.
