Physiological changes in Rubia cordifolia roots under pathogenesis
In 1984, healthy and diseased roots of R. cordifolia were harvested in Mahabaleshwar, Maharashtra, India, and were analysed biochemically. It was shown that infection by Pseudopeziza rubiae decreased ascorbic acid concn and increased the concn of polyphenols, reducing sugars and total sugars in the roots.
