Polymorphonuclear leucocyte function: relationship between induced migration into the bovine mammary gland and in vitro cell activity

, : Polymorphonuclear leucocyte function: relationship between induced migration into the bovine mammary gland and in vitro cell activity. Veterinary Immunology and Immunopathology 23(1/2): 75-83

Low doses of 10-7 mg Escherichia coli endotoxin (011B4) applied as intramammary infusion into single bovine quarters induced a rise in milk cell count without other inflammatory signs. Significantly fewer quarters responded in early lactation than in mid lactation.

Although some field-collected flies were observed, most of the studies used flies from a laboratory culture...

Resting cells are not so affected by the drug. It is suggested that loss of kinetoplast DNA is due to selective inhibition of replication and to dilution.
