Various types, combinations and mixing ratios of poultry manure and organic amendments were tested. Controllable factors having a significant impact on rate of composting of caged egg layer poultry manure were identified. A pilot study of the chosen factors was conducted. Type of amendment, mixing method and initial dry solids content had the most significant impact on rate of poultry manure composting.
