148 embryos were graded for quality on a scale from 1 = best and 3 = poorest, were frozen by one- or multi-step methods, and stored for 40-180 days. After thawing at 37 degrees C for 4-6 h, 141 embryos were recovered. With the 1-step method, 45.2% of embryos in grades 1 and 2 and 9.3% of grade-3 embryos survived. Corresponding figures for the multi-step method were 58.8 and 14.3%.
