Productivity and earliness of cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.) as affected by its temperature and water relations

Cotton Jaen, Acala GC510 and Paymaster 792, which differed in canopy architecture and earliness, were similar in water extraction patterns with depth. Water stressed plants had less canopy growth and were earlier than the controls. Canopy age was related to N content.
