Quinclorac - a new Echinochloa-herbicide for rice and an excellent partner for broad spectrum rice herbicides

Technical data and weed control spectra of quinclorac (Facet) are presented. Trials in the rice growing areas of 4 continents demonstrated the selectivity of the herbicide in both transplanted rice and all systems of direct seeded rice. The herbicide could be applied at 0.25-0.5 kg/ha from pre-sowing to mid-tillering of Echinochloa for control of the weed and, due to its foliar and soil activity, may be used in all rice water management systems.
