Studies of inventory methods for use in Polish Scots pine stands of age classes II-V showed that with plots of 1-4 are (1 are=100 msuperscript 2) and a constant sample size of 0.48 ha, best accuracy was with 1 are for ages II-IV and 2 are for age V. In terms of labour consumption, plots of 4 are are most economical.
