Relationship between leaf surface and yield in spring bread wheat plants in northern Kazakhstan

In a study of leaf surface area in a collection of varieties of various ecological/geographical groups, differences between varieties of different groups were noted in the rate of growth in leaf surface. A correlation was found at heading between leaf surface area and grain yield (r = 0.22-0.69).
