Relative efficacy of some insecticides and neem seed kernel suspension against tobacco caterpillar, Spodoptera litura Fabricius on tobacco

Field trials were carried out in Andhra Pradesh, India, in 1981-83 to evaluate the relative effectiveness of of deltamethrin (0.0015%), fenvalerate (0.01%), dicarbasulf (0.044%), chlorpyrifos (0.026%) and neem seed kernel suspension (NSKS) in water (2% in the nursery and 0.5% in the planted crop) against Spodoptera litura on F.C.V. tobacco both in the nursery and on the transplanted crop. All the insecticides and NSKS gave protection against damage by S. litura.
