Abstract
Blast lesions of rice in Tamil Nadu were frequently colonized by N. [Khuskia] oryzae. A reduction in K. oryzae spores in the air from Dec.-Mar. may be due to the fact that blast susceptible cultivars are avoided during this period. It is suggested that K. oryzae may have a nutritional preference for blast lesions and may also function as a natural antagonist of P. oryzae.
