Season-long comparison of two sex pheromone baits for Heliothis virescens surveys

Southwestern Entomologist, 141: 71-81
Season-long comparison of two sex pheromone baits for Heliothis virescens surveys
Two field tests were performed in Texas to determine the relative effectiveness of commercially available plastic laminate-type pheromone dispensers and newly-developed polyvinyl chloride block-type dispensers in attracting males of the noctuid Heliothis virescens to wire cone traps. In both tests, traps baited with pheromone impregnated PVC blocks caught significantly more moths than traps with laminated bait.
