Improved cultural practices devised in 1982-86 for pampas grass growing in Poland are described. Two to 4 new plants were obtained from each original plant using the traditional method of plant division every 2 years. By rooting strongly growing tillers, however, 20 new plants could be obtained from one original plant every year. A high N ratio in the growth medium (N:P:K at 3:2:2) and pH 5.0-6.5 gave the best results.
