Structure analyses in the beech forests and mixed beech forests of the natural forest reserves of Lower Saxony

Structure analyses in the beech forests and mixed beech forests of the natural forest reserves of Lower Saxony

Strukturanalysen in der Buchenwaldern und Buchen Mischwaldern der niedersachsischen Naturwaldreservate: 240

A detailed study was made of the stand structure and dynamics of the 'near-natural' forest communities in which beech plays an important part in Lower Saxony, including the aim of providing guidelines for 'naturalistic' silviculture. In all, 14 natural forest communities were distinguished which represent all the beech and mixed beech forest communities in NW Germany.
