In trials in 1980-84 on fields that had previously been paddy fields, the rotations soyabean/wheat and sweet sorghum/Lolium multiflorum were grown with or without application of 15.5 t FYM/ha. Soyabeans grew poorly in the 1st year, recovered until the 4th year then decreased due to disease incidence. Wheat grew well until the 3rd year then yields decreased due to disease.
