Studies on grassland establishment in the spring. 2. Effect of sowing time and cutting frequency on botanical composition and dry matter yield in wild-grass dominated pasture

In spring 1985 and 86 at Suwon, Korea Republic, Dactylis glomerata, Festuca arundinacea, Lolium perenne, Agrostis alba and Poa pratensis were sown in wild grass dominated pasture at 19, 7, 7, 2 and 3 kg seed/ha, resp., at 0, 10 and 20 d after thawing. In 1986, 1 litre Banvel ha was applied pre-sowing; no herbicides were applied in 1985. In 1985, sowing at 10 d after thawing and 5 cuts gave. max. yield of 0.95 t DM/ha.
