This paper was presented at the EWRS workshop, Methodology and Models in Weed Science, held at Wageningen, Netherlands on 19-20 Oct. 1987. The different approaches available for analysing population dynamics of weeds are reviewed, and their merits, problems and possible uses are discussed.
