Substrate. Practical trial with substrate systems. Various possibilities for collection of drainage water

Substrate. Practical trial with substrate systems. Various possibilities for collection of drainage water

Groenten en Fruit 45(21): 47

Data are presented on the yields/msuperscript 2 up to 20 Oct. of glasshouse tomatoes, capsicums and cucumbers grown on rockwool in nutrient solution, with variations in the matting, gully, covering and drainage systems. With tomatoes the highest yields were obtained using a drainage slit or the standard system of drainage. With capsicums yields were highest with a wide sleeve or an aluminium gulley + uncovered matting.
