Subterranean clover (Trifolium subterraneum L.), yields in three year trials in Roussillon (France) and relationship with rainfall, temperature and solar radiation

In trials of 11 T. subterraneum cultivars/ecotypes at Argeles-sur-Mer in 1985-88, total annual DM yields of approx. 4 t/ha were recorded for short cycle cultivars and up to 6 t/ha in longer cycle cultivars. Total annual DM production was correlated with the length of the rainy season whereas winter DM production was mainly correlated with the amount of solar radiation.
