Symptomatic psychosis during trichinelliasis - the effect of steroids or basic disease?
A patient was admitted to a clinic in Poland with Trichinella and Salmonella infection. Due to the severity of infection, he was treated with steroids (enkorton and hydrocortisone). After 8 days hydrocortisone was discontinued and Vermox and Biseptol were introduced. On day 11 the patient developed acute psychosis of exogenous type, with hallucinations.
