In mice homozygous for the insertions Is(HSR;1C5)1Icg and Is(HSR;3E)2Icg, no disturbances of synapsis were seen. It had been established in a previous study that the region delineated by the proximal breakpoint of Is(HSR;1C5)1Icg and the distal one of Is(HSR;1E3)2Icg is desynapsed during early pachytene and heterosynapsed at mid pachytene.
