Synchronization of oestrus in pigs with Oestrophan

, : Synchronization of oestrus in pigs with Oestrophan. Byulleten' Vsesoyuznyi Nauchno Issledovatel' skii Institut Razvedeniya i Genetiki Sel' skokhozyaistvennykh Zhivotnykh (106): 38-40

On the 12th-14th days of the oestrous cycle, sows were injected with 2, 4, 6 and 8 ml Oestrophan (PGF2 alpha ). The first 2 doses did not affect reproductive traits, but the 2 highest doses decreased the time to appearance of oestrus by 3.3 and 3.2 days resp., compared with values in untreated controls. Sows were also given PGF2 alpha at random times during the oestrous cycle (1, 2 or 3 injections).
