, : Synopsis of species of Tityus of north-eastern Brazil, with a redescription of T. neglectus Mello-Leitao (Scorpiones, Buthidae). Revista Brasileira de Zoologia 5(3): 399-408

T. neglectus, originally described from a female specimen collected in Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil, is redescribed. The type specimen, deposited in the Instituto Oswaldo Cruz in Rio de Janeiro is lost. A male from the collection of the Instituto Butantan in Sao Paulo is proposed as a neotype.
