Synthesis of polypeptides associated with PSI by the isolated Sorghum vulgare chloroplasts
Electrophoretic and fluorographic studies of thylakoids from isolated sorghum chloroplasts, which had been synthesizing protein in the presence of 35S-methionine, showed that >15 labelled polypeptides were associated with the thylakoid membrane. Three polypeptides of MW 26 000, 18 000 and, with longer exposure, 64 000 were found in PSI particles separated from the thylakoids.
