System of genetic control of plant height in flax
In hybrids from a diallel set of crosses between Soviet and foreign varieties, genes with additive effects were predominant in the control of plant height, which showed incomplete dominance. The variety Ukrainskii 2 had the largest number of recessive genes controlling the trait, and Yubileinyi and Mriya the largest number of dominant genes. Ukrainskii 2, Tvertsa, Smolenskii, Uspekh and Torzhokskii 4 are recommended as sources of tallness, having high GCA for the trait.
