, : Systematic application of fertilizers and productivity of crops in a rotation. Agrokhimiya (7): 39-46

A study in the Kiev region examined the effects of a range of mineral fertilizer inputs (68-390 kg/ha NPK) applied during a cereal sugarbeet rotation on grey forest soil. Both lime and FYM were also applied. The highest productivity followed inputs of 250 kg/ha NPK (N68 P68 K114) plus 6 t/ha FYM, which gave 71-102 centners/ha fodder units, 22.4 c/ha grain and 15.5 c/ha sugar per annum. Higher inputs gave only minor increases and reduced return per 1 kg NPK.
