The UK public library is a support service providing information, material and other resources to support all kinds of activities including leisure. New technology offers the opportunity to reach more people with more information than ever before, whilst the prospect of a greater commitment to leisure by resource providers and consumers should provide a stimulus for a far more analytical and critical look at the needs which the service should respond to and the nature of that response.
