The effect of a Macadamia hildebrandii stand on variations in microclimate

Buletin Penelitian Kehutanan 2(2): 15-20

The area studied is in Sipangan Bolon, about 180 km south of Medan, the provincial capital of North Sumatra. The undergrowth vegetation was studied in sample plots under M. hildebrandii (4x5 m plots), and under a non-M. hildebrandii stand (1x1 m plots). Observations were also made of light intensity, air temperature and relative humidity under the M. hildebrandii and P. merkusii stands, and in the open.
