The effect of different concentrations of indole acetic acid, naphthalene acetic acid, 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid and kinetin on in vitro callus formation and organogenesis in internode fragments of two sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas L. Lam.) cultivars

Internode sections of 2 sweet potato cultivars from N. Africa distinguished by the colour (white or pink) of their root tissues were cultured in vitro on media containing 5.7 x 10-3-57.0 micro M IAA, 5.3 x 10-3-53.0 micro M NAA, 4.5 x 10-3-45.0 micro M 2,4-D or 4.6 x 10-3-4.6 micro M kinetin separately or in various combinations. When applied separately, IAA had a slight effect on callus production, but stimulated root formation in both cultivars.
