In field trials in 1983-85, rice Nakateshinsenbon was given various combinations of 20-50 kg N/ha as basal fertilizer and 10 or 20 kg/ha as a sidedressing at 3 or 4 different development stages including in some treatments the lag phase of vegetative growth.
