The effects of exhaust gas on seed germination and seedling growth of cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) and wheat (Triticum aestivum L. subsp. vulgare)

On fumigation with exhaust gas for 3 d at 10 min/d germination of cucumber seed was reduced from 94% (untreated control) to 81% and at 3 h/d to 60%. In wheat, germination was 98% in the control and 93 and 83% respectively with fumigation at the 2 doses.
