The host-parasitoid relationship between cereal aphids and Ephedrus plagiator (Nees) (Hymenoptera: Aphidiidae)

The host-parasitoid relationship between cereal aphids and Ephedrus plagiator (Nees) (Hymenoptera: Aphidiidae)

Mededelingen van de Faculteit Landbouwwetenschappen, Rijksuniversiteit Gent 53(3a): 1045-1053

Investigations on parasitism of cereal aphids in spring 1986 in Gottingen, German Federal Republic, indicated that Ephedrus plagiator was the most abundant parasitoid species attacking Rhopalosiphum padi on Prunus padus. This parasitoid was not detected in Metopolophium dirhodum on Rosa spp. Results of laboratory tests indicated that Sitobion avenae had greater nutritive value for E. plagiator than M. dirhodum or R. padi.
