The influence of changes in the contents of nutrients, carbohydrates and dry matter during grain formation on grain yield in winter wheat



Rostlinna Vyroba 35(1): 37-46



Winter wheat Mironovska zlepsena and Sava were grown at Kromeriz in 1978-81 and given foliar applications of 6 kg Glucopur (dextrose)/300 litres water per ha at growth stage 7. Dextrose application significantly increased grain yield and leaf and plant sugar content through the activation of more effective nutrient intake, synthesis of organic compounds and translocation to the grain.
