The most important qualitative characteristics and properties of selected apricot cultivars

Growth, frost resistance, productivity and fruit characteristics were studied in 40 cultivars in 1985-1988. The tolerance of reproductive organs towards extreme frosts in winter (-30 degrees C) and late spring frosts (-6 degrees ) differed significantly between cultivars. The highest frost resistance was shown by cultivars Kecskei Rozsa, Early Gold, Rossosanskii Konservnyi and Bergerac, and the Czechoslovak hybrids VS 25/38 and VS 09/12.
