The presence of antibodies against reverse transcriptase of bovine leukosis virus in blood sera from experimentally infected sheep

The presence of antibodies against reverse transcriptase of bovine leukosis virus in blood sera from experimentally infected sheep

Medycyna Weterynaryjna 46(8): 284-286

Thirty eight rams aged 1 year, immunized with formalized and irradiated BLV propagated in fetal lamb kidney were injected i.m. with 3.5 ml lymphocytes from leukotic animals. Subsequent testing at weekly intervals with ELISA, immunodiffusion (ID) against gp51 antigen and ID against reverse transcriptase (RT) antigen showed in 4 animals the presence of anti RT antibodies which in 2 animals were coupled with anti gp51 antibodies.
