The primary structure of sunflower (Helianthus annuus) ubiquitin

The primary structure of sunflower (Helianthus annuus) ubiquitin

Using a human ubiquitin clone, 27 hybridizing clones were isolated from 30 000 lambda clones in a sunflower cDNA library. The sequence of polyubiquitin cDNA encoding 5.5 repeats of the 76 amino-acid sequence is presented. The homology of different ubiquitin units was in the range 78-86% (less than in man or yeast).
