The prospects for world agriculture and fertilizer use

IFA Bulletin (A/89/135): 25 pp

The prospects for world agriculture and fertilizer use

The demand for fertilizers is derived from that of agricultural products, in particular that of cereals; therefore, a review is given of the world cereal situation. The fertilizer situation in the different regions of the world is presented and estimates of consumption during the 1988/89 and the 1989/90 seasons are given. The estimates for 1988/89 are compared with those made at the same time last year.
