Wheat Albis was grown in open-top chambers in the field and fumigated daily with charcoal-filtered air (0.015 micro l O3/litre), nonfiltered air (0.03 micro l O3/litre) and air enriched with either 0.07 or 0.10 micro l O3/litre (seasonal 8 h/day mean ozone concn from 1 June until 10 July, 1987). Photosynthetic 14CO2 uptake was measured in situ. Net photosynthesis, dark respiration and CO2 compensation concn at 2 and 21% O2 were measured in the laboratory.
