Abstract
Details are given of the lithology and chemistry of the various types of sandy deposits in the region: (I) moraine and alluvial; (II) ancient alluvial and ancient delta; (III) aqua-glacial; (IV) ancient marine; and (V) modern marine sands. The condition of the pine stands on these various site types is described and, on this basis, recommendations are made for fertilizer treatments (especially N).
