The method described, which was tested on a range of vegetable crops, including cucumber, tomato and cabbage, involves subjecting plants (in artificial climate chambers) to short-term and alternating environmental factors of various types and measuring their response, using regression analysis to process the data in order to obtain a model of the ecological characteristics of a variety.
