In the 1st of 2 experiments with a 2 x 2 factorial design, 38 red-and-white bulls were implanted or not implanted with progesterone plus oestradiol-17 beta , and were or were not fed lasalocid during the finishing period. In the 2nd experiment, 33 bulls were implanted or not implanted with oestradiol-17 beta , and were or were not fed virginiamycin during the finishing period.
