Use of selected bacterial biomass for decreasing the ammonium nitrogen content of sugar factory wastes

Use of selected bacterial biomass for decreasing the ammonium nitrogen content of sugar factory wastes

Industria Saccarifera Italiana 83(2): 47-52

Purification of beet sugar factory effluents by lagooning is slow, owing to the presence of agents inhibiting nitrification. Tests are described in which the effluents from the 1987 and 1988 campaigns in Italy were treated with Biolen bacterial biomass products.
