Use of the Bactoscan in the grading of milk

Farm and Food Research 19(6): 26-27

The Bactoscan is a fully automated computerized microscopic count method for estimating the bacterial content of milk. It separates the bacteria from the milk before staining them and then uses a rotating disc to count them under the microscope. Bactoscan's performance data indicates an analysis time of 7 min with a capacity of 68 samples/h.
