Use of the delayed luminescence method for evaluation of frost resistance in Brassica plants

Delayed luminescence was used to measure frost resistance in the B. napus cultivars Siberian, Quinta and Bishop and the B. campestris cultivars Szczecinski, Perko and Pluto in October and January. An electrical conductivity test was carried out for comparison. Both methods gave similar results for unhardened plants (sampled in October) but differed in hardened plants (sampled in January).
