Use of the gene for reduced plant height in the wheat breeding programmes in Romania. I. Identification of the genes for reduced height in some Romanian semidwarf wheat cultivars

Test crosses and results of gibberellic acid sensitivity tests have shown that the Rht1 gene allele Rht-A1b is carried by the Romanian semidwarf winter wheat cultivars Flammula 80, Fundulea 133 and Fundulea 262. The same gene is also present in the related cultivars Lovrin 32, Lovrin 34, Fundulea 4 and Lovrin 41.
