Using SPOT HRV data to update the distribution of the paddy field in Taiwan

Analysis of HRV (high resolution visible) data from SPOT multispectral imagery taken on single dates for a site in N. Taiwan where rice was the only major crop and for a 2nd site at Yun-Lin in central Taiwan where sugarcane, groundnuts and maize were grown in addition to rice, together with aerial photographs, ground truth data and digitized land use maps demonstrated the capabilities of SPOT data for determining rice acreage where rice was the major crop.
