In tests under natural infection in the field and under artificial infection, high resistance to P. infestans was shown by Solanum polytrichon, S. verrucosum, S. oxycarpum, S. demissum, S. hjertingii, S. polyadenium, S. pinnatisectum, S. bulbocastanum, S. simplicifolium and S. microdontum.
