From 130 kg to slaughter at 600 kg, groups of 21 Simmental bulls were given maize silage semi-ad libitum, protein supplement 1.43 kg and dried sugarbeet pulp 1 kg. Protein supplement contained 90% faba beans (control), or 60, 20 and 10, 30, 40 and 20, and 0, 60 and 30% faba beans, 00 rapeseed oilmeal and barley, respectively. Average daily gain was 1145, 1191, 1209 and 1208 g, respectively.
