A comparative parasitological study of Malaysian schistosome (Koyan and Baling strains) with Schistosoma japonicum (Philippine strain) and S. mekongi (Thai strain) in various laboratory animals

A comparative parasitological study of Malaysian schistosome (Koyan and Baling strains) with Schistosoma japonicum (Philippine strain) and S. mekongi (Thai strain) in various laboratory animals

Tropical Biomedicine 4(2): 132-144

Various aspects of host-parasite relationships of the Malaysian schistosomes (Baling and Koyan strain) in laboratory animals are discussed and compared with S. japonicum (Philippine strain) and S. mekongi (Thailand strain). The prepatent period was significantly longer for the Koyan, Baling and S. mekongi strains than for S. japonicum in mouse models.
