A pepper vein chlorosis virus causing stem necrosis and vein chlorosis on red pepper in Korea

Capsicum annuum plants developed stem necrosis and vein chlorosis at a rate of 15.4% 45 d after transplanting in the field and 13.9% after 70 d. The virus isolated infected Chenopodium amaranticolor and C. quinoa locally and was systemic on Vigna sesquipedalis, cowpea, faba bean, Nicotiana glutinosa and the tobacco Ky-57. Tomato was infected symptomlessly but cucumber, Cucurbita pepo and Gomphrena globosa were not infected.
